*... for Thanksgiving Dinner
Wine wit Joshua Wesson of Best Cellars says to focus on the side dishes you'll serve rather than the turkey when choosing wines to accompany the complex mix of flavors found in the typical Thanksgiving dinner menu.
When choosing a white wine, go for one with fruit and a bit of sweetness.
Josh likes off-dry Rieslings and Chenin Blanc.
Good bets are Firestone Riesling from California, Selbach Riesling from the Mosel, and Moncontour Vouvray from France.
If a red wine is your choice, look for one that's young and light to medium-bodied.
Josh would select a Pinot Noir, perhaps a Rosemount Diamond Label from Australia or a Shale Ridge Shiraz to lend a bit of spice.
