When I lived there i can recall watching the women making it with habenero peppers, very spicy, as well as a cube of chicken broth stuff vinegar, but I thought it was apple cider vinegar, salt and pepper.
It was the base for a plate of fried pork and plantains, oooh baby, yummy.
